Do you enjoy helping customers build confidence and take practical steps towards their goals? Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd (CCDG), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Welsh Government, is looking for an Employability Coach who is committed to supporting people to achieve their career goals to join our team. We provide essential, all-age, independent, impartial and bilingual careers guidance and coaching services across Wales, including the Working Wales programme.

Key information

· Location: Wrexham Careers Centre. The postholder will also be expected to provide cover at Queensferry Careers Centre in Flintshire when required.

· Salary: £26,276–£28,256, starting at £26,276.

· Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

· Welsh language skills: Essential. Candidates must have a minimum of intermediate-level Welsh language skills.

· Closing date: Completed applications should be submitted by 12th July 2026.

· Selection process: Assessments and interviews will be held digitally via Microsoft Teams. Assessments will take place on 20th July 2026 and interviews on 22nd July and 23rd July 2026.

About the role

In this role, you will work with a varied client group, including young people seeking new opportunities or leaving education, parents, adults who are unemployed and looking for support to enter work, and people in employment who are considering a career change. We are looking for a flexible and effective communicator who is confident supporting our varied customer base face to face and through digital channels.

.As an Employability Coach, you will:

· support and inspire clients to identify and work towards positive career goals;

· provide clear information and advice to help clients manage their careers;

· provide employability support, including help with CVs, job searching and applications;

· help clients move towards sustained positive outcomes, including education, training or employment.

You should be educated to Level 3 standard or equivalent, ideally in a related area such as advice and guidance, or have experience of working at this level. If you do not already hold the Level 4 Diploma in Career Information and Advice, we will provide the training and support needed to achieve this valuable qualification.

Welsh language skills – intermediate level

You will be able to understand and communicate clearly on every day and work-related topics, hold conversations, and explain ideas, experiences and plans with confidence. You should also be able to read straightforward work communications and write clear, well-structured emails or letters to share information, make requests or organise activities.

Additional requirements

The successful applicant will be required to complete a Basic Disclosure check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
